OBITUARY FOR CORY JOE DOUGLAS MISKENACK

Cory Joe Douglas Miskenack (AKA Cory Heart, Joe Cory), 36, passed away on July 9th, 2025. Born on October 18th, 1988, Cory lived a full and vibrant life from beginning to end and touched the lives of many people along the way.

When he was a boy, Cory was intelligent and creative. He was always a trickster and a comedian. At a young age, he wrote letters to family and even sewed and created a couple of shirts.

After he graduated from North Peace Secondary High School, he went on to school to learn carpentry and built a house from the ground up! Cory liked to write about his dreams and make stories. Later, he did some very beautiful artwork, and was in the process of building his on-line business called “Dreamwalkerz Apparel”

He met Skylar Targuba and they had a boy they named Traelen Chase Jordan Miskenack. They shared some wonderful times but ended up having different plans in life but stayed in touch by co-parenting and raising Traelen. In 2021, Cory met and married the love of his life, Shianne Etzerta who then joined the Miskenack Family. Cory adopted Lilia and loved her as his very own, after a couple of years, Cory and Shianne had another little girl they both named Isabella Winnifred Victoria Miskenack. All 3 of Cory’s children were raised together and became very close to each other. Family was everything to Cory.

Towards the end of his life, Cory endured medical hardship but kept one foot forward and his spirits held high. Cory is survived by his adoring wife Shianne and his son Traelen and daughter’s Lilia and Isabella.

The family is holding a wake on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.  The start time for the wake will be at 3:30 pm.  A funeral service to celebrate Cory’s life is Wednesday, August 6, 2025, starting at 1:00 pm with the burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.  A luncheon to follow.  All services will be held at Taylor Community Hall.
