James Bruce Arnott
March 8 1947 - May 22 2025
With broken hearts we share the news of Jim’s passing. He died May 22nd, 2025.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Donna Arnott, as well as his two sons Sherwin and Dale Arnott. Dale is married to Deanna, and has two children Morgan and Kirsten.
Kirsten is married to Shayler Middleton. Sherwin is married to Rebecca.
Jim has three siblings, Vivian Hamanishi, Leo Arnott and Edgar Arnott (deceased).
Jim was born and grew up in the Peace River country, and for most of his working career, he lived in Cold Lake, Alberta.
He returned to the Peace River country to be with family in his retirement. He loved this land.
He was a caring man who loved deeply. He loved his family and friends and to make others smile. He loved nature, which he portrayed so clearly in his artwork.
He worked in his gardens with Donna, and loved to give back to his community, donating countless boxes of vegetables grown with love.
He will be remembered for his kindness and humor.
He had eyes full of wonder and the voice of a storyteller. He loved to sing to us, read poems, and tell us stories.
Jim asked in his will for there to be no service.
In lieu of flowers, Jim’s family is asking friends and family to donate to their local anti-poverty organizations.
