Obituary of Margaret June Howell
Margaret June Howell
(Anderson)
May 3, 1960 - May 15, 2025
Margaret June (Anderson) Howell, passed away peacefully May 15, 2025, on her own terms after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Surrounded by friends and family (2-legged and 4-legged kind) in sunny light of the afternoon sky, she went with peace and laughter towards her loving husband Randy, who already resides in heaven.
Margaret, more affectionally called Margie by friends, was born in Saskatoon, SK as the only child of Doris Margaret Hannah, and later adopted by Alvin Franklin Anderson in 1967, she never knew any other father as he was there for her 1st birthday. Margie grew up in New Westminster, BC, where she met her lifetime friends (Mary Lou Smith and Ann Rutherford) and husband (Randy Howell). Early life summers were spent on the family farm in Woodrow, SK where she lovingly enjoyed horseback riding under the warm southern Saskatchewan skies. Margie in early High School wanted to become an airline stewardess, however by the end of high school she wanted to become a loving housewife and mother. She was able to acquire her dream and became sweetheart to Randy and a Momma to Brian Michael and Shannon Amber. She very much loved all animals and creatures with her favorite being Tigers, which were as fierce as her love and dedication. Margie loved her German Shepards, cats of all shapes and sizes, and even learned to love a leopard gecko in which she doted on.
Margie was diagnosed with cancer early 2024 and fought valiantly hard right until the end, with her strong will and stubborness, yet able to have some laughs and side jokes. The poor staff at Gravelbourg, Swift Current, Regina, Fort St. John, and Prince George Cancer Clinics our families hat goes off to you. A special thanks to Dr. Wright, Dr. Ramlakhan, Dr. Pillay and nurses Larisa and Shannon of the Fort St John Cancer Clinic. Special thanks to staff members of Hamre's Funeral Chapel who picked up Margaret, they had to endure her last joke of, "Staying Alive, from the Bee Gees".
Margaret is survived by her son Brian, daughter Shannon, daughter in law Lonnie, and grand children Thane, Haley of Fort St John, also by cousins Peggy of Edmonton, AB and Johnny of Hodgeville, SK and numerous fur babies. Also, all the children that Margie AKA Momma had tried to help over the years. Momma, Mommy, Ma, Grandma, Mom will be deeply missed, Rest in Peace until we meet again!
As per Momma's request, there will be no formal funeral or memorial, but a celebration of life will be held at her son's home in Fort St John on June 7, 2025. Please contact Brian at (778) 256-5600 for the address. A brief family graveside memorial will be held later this summer (2025) at the Hunt Family Section of the Woodrow Cemetery, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, donations to the World Wildlife Fund - Click Here to donate - or your local animal shelter in Margaret's name, would greatly honor our parent's memory to the fullest.
"I figure all any kid needs is hope and the feeling that he or she belongs.
If I could do or say anything that would give some kid that feeling,
I would believe I had contributed something to the world"
