Michael's journey began in Edmonton, Alberta, and continued as he started school in Alberta continued in British Columbia before graduating in Melfort, Saskatchewan. Throughout his school years, Michael found joy in playing football and developed a deep love for Longhorn cattle from a very young age. After graduation, he made his way to Fort St. John, where he embarked on a career with Pro Pile Inc. Uncle Mikey, as he was affectionately known, guided, loved, and protected his nephews unconditionally, and they reciprocated that love wholeheartedly. His passion for hunting and quadding with his family brought him immense happiness, especially when he had the opportunity to share these experiences with his beloved nephew.

Approximately five years ago, Michael expanded his love for Longhorns by taking up the art of polishing and mounting their horns. He spent countless hours mastering this skill that brought him both joy and frustration throughout the process, however the end result was always worth his effort. Additionally, Michael had a passion for venturing into the bush to cut the biggest trees for firewood. His incredible strength and determination were evident as he tirelessly cut and split wood, often completing a full load in a single day. He also shared his expertise in gardening, assisting his mother and even contributing to a prize-winning carrot crop in Fort St. John.

Michael's Celebration of Life will be held on August 2, 2025, at the Heatherington Farm in Athabasca, Alberta. Michael was a man of few words however this was made up for with his endless facial expressions capable of conveying any message.  The absence of his strong hugs, stingy as they were, and one of a kind laugh will be felt endlessly by those who knew and loved him. His spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

May your gun never miss fire, may your quad tank always be full, may your saw always be sharp, and may your axe always swing true. Until we meet again, goodbye, our son, brother, nephew, and uncle.
