Obituary of Glenda Colleen Carlson
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Glenda Colleen (Kuntz) Carlson on
February 16, 2025, at the age of 59 years. She passed at her home in Pineview after a 5 year
struggle with cancer, with her family by her side.
Glenda was born November 11, 1965, in Grande Prairie, AB, to her parents Joseph and Olive
Kuntz, making her their fourth daughter.
She was raised on a farm in Wembley, AB where she attended school and then on to
Beaverlodge for high school. Glenda always had a spark and wit about her, and she easily
attracted many great friends throughout her life.
After high School, Glenda worked at the QEII hospital until she met the love of her life on a blind
date, Darrel Carlson. They had a fairytale romance, marrying on July 13,1991. They welcomed
their children Ashton, Madissen, Brooklin, and Tristin. Years later their four grandchildren
Carlan, Jasper, Ashlyn, and Annalise brought even more joy to their life. Her family was the
brightest light in her life, bringing her more joy and pride than she thought possible.
Glenda was predeceased by her father, Joseph Kuntz, her grandparents Karol and Rosalie
Kuntz, Hjalmer and Harriet ‘Julia’ Nilsson, and Darrel’s Grandmother Harriet ‘Hattie’ Millar, all
dearly beloved by Glenda.
Left to mourn her passing is her husband Darrel Carlson, children Ashton (Caroline) Carlson
and children Carlan, Ashlyn, and baby to arrive in June; Madissen (Brian) Thomas and children
Jasper and Annalise; Brooklin Carlson, and Tristin Carlson. Mother Olive Kuntz, sisters Vickie
(Joe) Francoeur, Karen (Brad) Peters, Darlene (Darren) Dahl. Father and Mother-in-law Nels and
Sharron Carlson, Brother-in-law Robert (Bonnie) Carlson. She will also be missed by her many
beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and of course her many pets who all loved her
dearly.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither
sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.
Behold, I make all things new.
-Revelation 21:4-5
