Obituary of Thomas James Hutton
Thomas James Hutton went home to Heaven on February 8th, 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Tom was born on March 20th, 1949 in Calgary, Alberta. He moved to Victoria, BC with his parents, Jim and Gerry, and his older brother Lee when he was a teenager. He met his wife, Debbie in Victoria and they were married for 52 years. When he was a young man, he said he wanted to be surrounded by beautiful women; however, he hadn't planned on having four daughters, but he got his wish, although it didn't turn out the way he was thinking! Tom and Debbie moved their young family to Prince George, BC in 1986. They then moved to Kelowna in 1989 and then back to Victoria in 1993 to be closer to his and Debbie's aging parents. He always used to joke that he wanted to move to Peace River Country, and in 2005, he got his wish. He spent the last four years of his life at Peace Villa battling Alzheimer's.
Tom will be remembered for his big heart, his generosity, compassion for other people and animals, his love of music, dancing, golf, camping, spending time with family, playing badminton, and having fun. Tom was always quick with a joke and quick to laugh.
Tom leaves behind wife Debbie, his five children, Carmen, Kimberley (Glen), Erin (Jason), Braithe (Brandon), and Christopher, and six grandchildren, Sierra, Karly, Braden, Caleb, Matthew and Levi.
Tom's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Peace Villa for their care of Tom in the final years of his life.
